Get out of the rat race and onto the fast track through affiliate marketing online. Thanks to the power of the internet, offering unprecedented scope and reach, you can find now a couple of new ways to make money from the comfort of your own home. Best of all, unlike old-fashioned medical billing or envelope stuffing schemes, these modern methods actually work! Affiliate marketing is the roadmap to 6 and 7 figures – if you know what you’re doing and you’re doing something valuable.

Now let’s pause right there for a moment, because lost in all of the hooplah over making money online is that fact that you are only going to be rewarded for adding something of value to the internet. Yes, internet marketing equals residual cashflow, but that only happens when you are really supplying something that contributes positively to someone’s life!

For example, teach enough people something they want to know and enough of those people will help make you rich – not by having to pay you any money themselves, but by clicking on any number of ads you can host on your attractively designed, easy-to-navigate information-rich website.

Each click can be anywhere from a few pennies to a couple of dollars for you by the company that’s chosen your site as the venue to advertise their product or service – and, as previously mentioned, with enough people browsing your site chances are that enough of them will click on an ad, translating to hundreds or even thousands of dollars a month!

However the trick is to provide a thing of value and market it right. Without appropriate advertising, no one will actually hear of your wonderful website, even if it contains the answer to life, the universe, and everything. But all the advertising in the world isn’t going to help folks want to come back or even stay on your site if there’s nothing there of value to them.

Severe headaches? Squinting? It might possibly be signs and symptoms of declining eyesight. So what do you do next? You proceed to see an eye doc (of course) and it may be that you will require spectacles or contact lenses. Now there is always the option of laser surgery but this posting will not talk about that.

Go for the glass? Specs have been around for decades – think Benjamin Franklin, an iconic wearer of glasses. Eye glasses are either produced from plastic or glass. The frames for them also come in a selection of materials. And, if you’re nervous about not finding the proper frames, don’t fret they at present have frameless types. And if you are one of those individuals who can’t even contemplate putting their finger in their eye and flinch at the idea of it, eye glasses may be your best plan.

On the other hand contact lenses offer you some advantages over eyeglasses. One advantage, the rain, I believe you know what happens. Two, fog, eye glasses tend to fog up. Three, slipping down your nose every time you perspire, etc.

Whichever you opt for, the most fundamental issue is the fact that you see clearly.

Ah, a portable ice maker. At last, a sure-fire way of keeping cool when out of doors under a hot summer sun. You have a picnic, or a camping trip, or even just a little get-together in the backyard and do not wish to keep running back inside for ice – you want a portable ice maker.

It’ll not only save you trips and hassle, but save you from such things as running out of ice all of a sudden. Having one of these niffty little marvels of modern engineering will prevent you from looking like a bad thoughtless host. And nothing beats a portable ice maker at the beach! Like, booyeah.

It’s just what you want when enjoying the scenery. It could even be a fantastic conversation starter. Forget about helping to apply suntan lotion – give her the gift of perfectly shaped ice cubes and see what happens next! No, really, it works (with some individuals, but not all). In any case, the water’s salty – but fresh ice cubes? Come one, you’ll be the king of the beach.

Make sure you get one with helpful functions for instance a low water light to remind you of refills. Some versions will even reuse melted water right back into ice cubes. Make sure to get the capacity you need, too. Portable ice makers are fairly straightforward machines so you should have no trouble finding one that’s just right.

Take one to your next tailgating party. Need one for your RV? Portable ice makers are almost required on boats. These devices are useful in a number of situations. When in the market for one, you might find that the most essential aspect of your purchase is simply the choice of color! That’s how simple it is to buy one, because that’s how straightforward they have become these days.

Online CPE courses are a great way for professionals to brush up on the latest developments in their fields from the comfort of their own homes. A lot better than old-fashioned correspondence classes, today’s offerings are interactive and in fact fun, making learning simple for busy professionals with sixty hour workweeks!

It’s small wonder then why “online CPE” is one of the most popular of keyword phrases entered into search engines nowadays. While ongoing professional accreditation has existed for decades, it is only with the explosion of the worldwide web that tele learning, as this form of instruction is know, has truly taken off.

And in this economy, online CPE courses are crucial in helping licensed professionals maintain their professional skillsets. New doctors, lawyers, and accountants are churned out each year by the hundreds, and though seniority and experience does count for a lot, much of the routine work – which comprise the overwhelming vast majority of any firm’s business – may be quite competently handled by new hires. That’s why continuing education is so essential: it helps one distinguish oneself from the recently graduated class entering one’s profession every year.

In that respect, however, one important point bears repeating: It’s everyone’s own responsibility to ensure that any continuing education course taken really counts with the most important professional bodies in one’s field. While more knowledge almost never hurts, a CPE isn’t a matter of exploring your own interests on your own time!

You’re paying money here, so make sure that any credits earned would be acknowledged by whatever governing board that oversees your profession. And speaking of paying money, here’s one more great tip: See if there are pilot courses that may be taken for free. That’s right, free! Check specific policies for details, but usually you only need to complete the course and provide some feedback.

We might have brought a backpacking tent along. Instead, being young guys we relished in challenging ourselves and flirting with danger. We cavalierly enjoyed our mountaintop landscape even as the sun was about to dip, and by the time we had turned home we could scarcely go another thousand yards before we noticed that we could not see very well.

Real hikers would have just quickly pitched or otherwise assembled a backpacking tent but obviously we didn’t have one since we were novices and by no means imagined we’d need one. This was meant to have been a casual day-hike, after all. And yet, here we were at the end of the day and barely began on our descent. What we did not count on was how incredibly fast darkness could grow in a forest.

Although light was still in the sky, it wasn’t getting to us because of the thick canopy of leaves. Even throughout high noon the ground would be mostly shaded, never mind now, right before nightfall. And in one of the most amazing experiences ever, I saw my own hand fade away right in front of me, literally in seconds, melting away into the enveloping darkness like some movie fade-out.

Except that it was happening all to me; We were still almost two thousand feet up from the trail head; and also we didn’t even have a backpacking tent!

Luckily, friends below summoned local volunteer park rangers and we were finally rescued. But not before spending six or seven hours shivering in the cold and dark! Although it had been a humid summer day, it felt more like late fall in rural New York at night. When I started to finally shiver and shiver I thought it was going to be the end of me! So never, never, never – ever – go hiking without a tent or sleeping bag.

Virtual reality tours have come a long way since something like the New York Skyride of serial entrepreneur Zalman Silber, which is an IMAX-like cinematic experience found at the city’s world-famous Empire State Building. Contrast that with the United States Army’s Virtual Army Experience, or VAE, which is an interactive multimedia virtual tour of what it’s like to be an American soldier in the 21st Century.

The VAE was created to capitalize on the appetite of today’s American youth for electronic entertainment. Rather than continuing to run television commercials as was done before, it was decided to support classic forms of outreach with one that more immediately and forcefully resonated with today’s young males. One thing like the aforementioned Skyride by Zalman Silber is family entertainment and totally innocuous, G-rated to seat as quite a few as feasible. It’s mildly educational while the VAE is meant to showcase the most positive aspects of modern soldiering to action-oriented youths. The VAE presents a life-sized networked environment for visitors to get a little taste of soldiering and battle. With a complicated setup that involves computers, video, motion sensors, and full surround sound, the VAE is an engaging way to both entertain and educate, not to mention recruit. Via the use of traditional storytelling alongside familiar videogaming conventions, the VAE has been hailed for its innovative use of cutting-edge technology to inform and also to sell.

Visitors gather from the “Assembly Area,” whereupon uniformed VAE staff shepherd guests on to the “Joint Operations Center.” There they meet former soldiers, now employees of Army partner Ignited Minds, a marketing firm, who serve as “team leaders.” An intelligence briefing ensues, which covers the upcoming virtual mission. Time is also taken to introduce Army rules of engagement as well as suitable use of simulator equipment and right deployment of Army tactical doctrine. Then it’s on to the mission itself, which takes place from the “Mission Simulator” proper. The objective is to evacuate civilians, an unassailably righteous scenario that critics contend mask the much more likely and less innocuous duties of Army life and death in a time of war.

Upon completion in the mission participants are debriefed in an “After Action Area” where Army values are introduced within the context from the mission, values including duty, honor, respect, and camaraderie. At specific venues, an actual war hero is on-hand to speak with participants, lending an inspirational air of authenticity that has numerous VAE site visitors applauding.

It is all very beguiling, specifically for young men still trying to prove themselves to themselves.

Surgical masks are most often worn by health professionals, but in several Asian countries they are worn simply as a way of protecting oneself from the smog, a common problem in that part of the world. Asians also wear surgical masks when sick in order to not infect anyone else. Interestingly, such a simple everyday thing is involved in one of the most uncanny of popular legends in Japan.

Kuchisake Onna, or “slit-mouthed woman” in Japanese, was originally a really beautiful woman whose jealous husband cut her mouth from ear to ear, taunting, “Who will think you’re beautiful now!” Ever since then, on foggy nights, she can be seen roaming around in a surgical mask. When she encounters somebody, usually youth, she will shyly inquire whether the person thinks she is beautiful.

If the response is yes, Onna will take off her surgical mask and ask, “How about now?” Different versions of the legend give various outcomes if the answer remains affirmative, all bad: she will either cut the individual from ear to ear to resemble herself or kill the person – or both – or, inexplicably, give a large blood-soaked ruby and walk away.

Different versions of this tale provide for the same general set of choices even if the original answer had been negative – mutilation or murder. Basically, meeting Kuchisake Onna is bad luck. However, a lot more modern versions these days advise that responding “You’re average” or “So-so” or even asking her what she thinks of one’s own beauty will turn the tables on her and confuse her, providing an opportunity to escape.

And, in one of those only-in-Japan kind of things, there’s even the tactic of simply informing her that you must be on your way, so as to embarrass her for forgetting her manners and making her excuse herself from your presence!

I had some online CPE courses to do the other day. As a lawyer, it’s mandatory that we take continuing professional education. Online CPE courses are great, because I normally get do attend on my own schedule. There are some courses which are available live only, virtually the same as a normal course taken at a college except conducted over the internet, taking advantage of that medium’s exponentially greater reach but little else.

But these are quite the exception, and typically only available this way as a result of copyright concerns. I usually avoid these kinds of continuing professional education courses unless the lecturer happens to be some hot-shot lawyer or the material is especially interesting to me.

To me, the primary benefit of online CPE courses is how it is possible to go at one’s personal pace. And as a third-year associate at one of the largest corporate law firms in the world, believe me when I say how much I appreciate that convenience! I work sixty to seventy-hour weeks, including weekends of course, and that’s not even considering all the years of studying I’ve already gone through: by now I have twenty-some-odd years of schooling – considerably a lot more than two whole thirds of my life!

So anything at all that lets me take it easy a little is most desired, and being able to pursue continuing professional education over the worldwide web makes a bad situation a little better.

I mean, I actually do not want to do it – but it’s a requirement for periodic relicensing as an attorney, and I’m not ready to quit the profession just yet, if ever – so being able to at least take my time with it takes some of the onerousness out of it all. Plus, sometimes it is free if it’s a pilot course, an experimental course for which I receive free CPE credits in exchange for providing some feedback, making things even less onerous!

Is it possible to use an online course to get the kind of knowledge a developer like Isaac Toussie has regarding real estate?

The information superhighway will soon be celebrating its fiftieth anniversary. It took a few decades for the web to percolate out from a fairly small coterie of research scientists and other academics into the wider general population, but once it did, our world was changed forever: It was wired.

And so almost everything is on the internet these days, and almost everything is done through it – even sex! And the once near-exclusive province of worthless diploma mills, so-called distance learning has really come of age with a vengeance with the advent of the worldwide “w.” And now, in this age of Web 2.0 going on 3 or even 4, it seems like every corporate body and its subsidiary is getting in on the action.

Bah, humbug, some are tempted to say. No mere Luddites, these, some people just wonder whether e-learning can ever truly replace the face-to-face interactions of traditional modalities. In this article, we shall be taking a look-see at the issue for ourselves. Due to issues of legal liability, we shan’t name any names, lest we libel the guilty – wink, wink. But a brief survey of three of the most widely advertised such courses online has revealed to this author at least that business fundamentals can indeed be properly passed along online. These courses will never compare to actual field experience, lending anyone the knowledge of an Isaac Toussie, but then again nothing ever can.

No, the main attraction for these courses – their competitive advantage, to borrow an economist’s term, if you will – is that they are extremely accommodating of your schedule. With most such courses, you can attend class whenever you want – and certainly in whatever you want, including your birthday suit! Convenience is their number one draw, and this kind of accessibility is not to be discounted, especially since it is not necessarily any more expensive than the kind of learning offered by a traditional classroom setting. In fact, these courses can cost rather less money, particularly if you think about factors like time, such as the time it takes to commute to a brick-and-mortar school.

More difficult is the hands-on approach that is probably necessary for a really good grasp of how the real estate business works. Learning about the relevant laws is important but not quite what one actually does in real estate. What’s really necessary is a way of cultivating the mindset of a real estate tycoon! Maybe one of these internet real estate courses, possibly offered by a “real” school such as a government-supported local community college, may involve an actual internship as a part of the experience, which would go a long way towards just that end of teaching real-world knowledge.

With media attention mostly centered on foreclosed homeowners, this article will take a brief look to consider the consequences on homebuilders such as Isaac Toussie.

Embittered homeowners who have been foreclosed upon have taken to trashing the premises before getting kicked out, with anecdotal estimates by real estate agents putting the number of such vandalized properties at up to half of all such units. But given all the media coverage of foreclosed homeowners, it’s time to take a look now at how the same crisis is affecting homebuilders like Isaac Toussie. After all, many of the small-time businessmen had to take out loans in order to finance their housing developments. Of course, there are no such developers out on the street, and their cases, unfortunate in themselves, are not anywhere near comparable to that of homeowners who have nowhere to go at all. But it’s useful to see how things can turn out for businessmen and women caught up in the same economic catastrophe, and how reactions can differ – or not.

For example, many small homebuilders have had to dip into personal savings just to keep their companies afloat, a familiar situation to many homeowners. Buyers were disappearing with cash deposits of several thousand left on the table, proof that local residential property markets had turned ice-cold. Even more unfortunately, many homebuilders have proceeded since then to file for bankruptcy protection, with vast sums owed not only to their lenders but also their subcontractors and workers. But still worse yet, these small-time builders have often financed their businesses with so-called recourse debt which allows banks to seize homes, cars, and other personal assets in case of default – again, quite a familiar scenario comparable to that faced by many homeowners.

Such circumstances have increased and are now considered commonplace across the country. Many a builder has been left with unsold units and land, falling behind on interest payments and facing foreclosures. And in a very bad sign of the extent of the destruction involved, even very large homebuilders are in trouble, with legendary builders such as Levitt & Sons, founders of Levittown, New York on Long Island, famous for epitomizing postwar suburbia, forced into bankruptcy like some small ill-fated start-up.

It’s gotten so bad that once solid partnerships and friendships have frayed as an every-man-for-himself mentality creeps into the proceedings. Contractors and subcontractors have had to take out liens on the property they build in order to protect themselves. And it is in this respect that the problems of homeowners and homebuilders differ: the latter have almost no hope of any governmental assistance whatsoever, despite being affected by the same subprime mortgage industry shenanigans that’s made owning a home so suddenly burdensome.
